Morocco vs Zambia
International – Friendlies
Date: Sunday, 16 June 2019
Kick-off @ 17:30 UK / 18:30 CET
Venue: Stade de Marrakech (Marrakech).
With the hosts Morocco gearing up for a prospective African Cup of Nations campaign, it is certain that they will be the ones desperate for a positive result when they clash against visitors Zambia at the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco on Sunday.
The visitors, who were recently crowned the COSAFA Cup winners, missed out on qualifying for the finals in Egypt after finishing at the bottom of their group in the qualifiers. Incidentally, Morocco’s opening fixture for the African Cup of Nations will be against Namibia, who progressed from the same group as that of Zambia after finishing on top of the table.
Despite their recent title win, Zambia succumbed to a defeat against Ivory Coast in their last away match and will be hoping that they don’t suffer back to back defeats when they take on the hosts.
The Moroccan side, on the other hand, are already without a win in their last two home matches and will be eyeing their clash with the visitors as the perfect opportunity to go back to winning ways.
Following the opening fixture in Egypt, the home side will be up against the likes of Ivory Coast and South Africa. Hence a win for the home side on Sunday will definitely offer a much-needed boost to the team’s morale and confidence if they are to progress beyond the group stage.
