Guinea vs Madagascar Prediction & Match Preview

Guinea vs Madagascar
Africa – Cup of Nations
Date: Saturday, 22 June 2019
Kick-off at 21:00 UK/ 22:00 CET
Venue: Alexandria Stadium (Alexandria).
Both teams are on respective winless runs of five games each and hope to put it to rest with a morale-boosting win in their tournament opener. With Burundi also in this same group, the winner of this fixture could grab a ticket to the knockouts with another victory over the debutants.
Guinea had the misfortune to end their preparation for the contest with a tie-up against Egypt. The host nation for this edition of the competition right away took control of proceedings with an early goal. The former did try to claw their way back with an equalizer at the hour-mark.
But once again the Pharaohs took the lead, and the incoming of Mohammed Salah really did help, who assisted the third and final goal of his group.
Madagascar was punished for their inability to defend leads by Mauritania in their last game. The former had taken the lead, and ended the first half thusly, but come the latter 45 minutes, three unanswered goals were put into their nets one after the other, to completely take away any sense of even making an attempt for a comeback.
With confidence running low, the team turns hopes towards Liverpool midfielder Nabil Keita, to take them through this challenge.

Guinea vs Madagascar Head-to-head (h2h)

  • Both teams found the back of the net in all of their clashes.
  • Guinea holds a 100% unbeaten record.
  • The last time these two met, Madagascar lost 4-1.
  • Guinea has never conceded more than one goal in a match.

Guinea vs Madagascar Prediction

Madagascar has been finding it hard to put on a decent game for quite a long time. They lost four of their last five matches and conceded three or more goals in three of these five, and two or more in four of the last five. Going back, their only wins in the last one-year period came against minnows Equatorial Guinea.
On the other hand, their counterparts may have been going through a rough patch themselves, but they had some really tough challenges during those while, Egypt is an example. Also, the team avoided a loss in five of their last seven games, and most importantly, have never lost against this opponent.
Complementing the 100% unbeaten record in h2h ties is the loss they inflicted upon Madagascar the last time they locked horns; a soul-crushing 4-1 defeat.
As such, expect a win for Guinea, but not without some damages. Consider that every single h2h tie had goals at both ends of the pitch and that they failed to keep a clean sheet in four of their last five games. Expect the BTTS option to be fulfilled.

Guinea vs Madagascar Betting Tips

  • Both Teams to Score @ 2.20 (6/5)
  • Guinea to Win @ 1.60 (3/5).
